AICTE - IDEA Lab
Fostering innovation and creativity through hands-on STEM applications.
AICTE has launched a scheme for establishing AICTE-IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Lab in its approved institutions for encouraging students for application of Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fundamentals towards enhanced hands-on experience and learning by doing. As a common facility embedded in the institution, IDEA Lab facilitates the students to "engage, explore, experience, express and excel" as desired by the Hon'ble Prime Minister in the wake of release of National Education Policy 2020. These Labs are mandated to function 24x7 in the institutions selected and be available to the colleges, schools, and industries around also.
AICTE- Idea Lab is a creative and innovative space or program designed to foster the generation, development, and realization of new ideas, inventions, or projects. These labs bring together individuals with diverse skills and backgrounds to collaborate on creative projects.
AICTE-IDEA Lab plays a crucial role in fostering innovation and creativity by providing a supportive and collaborative environment for idea generation and development. Faculty would be encouraged to get trained in this Lab and strive for creating problems/ projects/ internships in their subjects/ disciplines and mentor the students.

The college has provided extensive playing fields and courts for all sports like Basketball, Ball Badminton, Cricket, Football, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Tennis, Volleyball and Athletics. Among which the Tennis and Basketball courts are equipped with well-tended synthetic flooring.
An Indoor Stadium is also available for Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess. Individual and martial sports like Boxing, Judo, Taekwondo and Silambam are also encouraged in our campus. Apart from these facilities, ample sports materials, commendable guidance, motivation and coaching are given by the Director of Physical Education towards participation in Inter-Collegiate, Inter-Zonal, State and National level tournaments.
The college Department of Physical Education consecutively organises Zonal, State and National level sports events in the college premises, enhancing students' teamwork, willpower, organizing talents and their sportive nature with people from different cultures.
Besides, the college provides well-tented air-conditioned gymnasium separately for men and women with high-tech equipment. All students are motivated to maintain and enhance their general and specific fitness.

Laboratories
State-of-the-art facilities with advanced instruments to foster practical learning and research across departments.
Hindusthan Institute of Technology has twelve world-class computer laboratories across campus featuring over seven hundred computer systems. Beyond the computer labs, there are also computer workstations and printing options available in the Central Computing Center & Central Library.
The computer lab stocks the latest configuration in computers and is available anytime during and after working hours to all students and faculty. Each Department has its own lab with software that caters to specific academic programs.
The Physics Laboratory, which is equipped with the latest instruments, occupies an area of 252 sq.m. It can accommodate up to 65 students at a time to perform experiments as prescribed in the Anna University curriculum.

Understanding the importance of English language in the higher education system, the department maintains a well-equipped laboratory. The Laboratory syllabus is designed as a skill-based curriculum with a global perspective by the University.
This Laboratory aims at honing the communicative, social, interpersonal and professional skills of the students to enable them to emerge as employable engineers and good competitors in the corporate world.

Knowledge Center
An excellent library featuring modern amenities, journals, and a specialized digital system to support comprehensive learning.
We have an excellent library contains more than 28,355 volumes of books, 1024 journals (national and international). Total area of the library is 600 Sq.M With the seating capacity of 100 persons. Reprographic and networking facility is available in Digital library.
The library resource centre is fully automated and for this we have specialized user-friendly library software called LIPS-DOLPHIN.
The main aim of the central library is to provide information services and access to print and e-resources to support the informational needs of the institute community. The fully computerized central library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, printed and electronic journals, CD-ROMs, on-line databases, audio video cassettes, and project reports etc. Open Access System is being followed to access the books and journals.
Rules and Regulations
- Complete silence is to be observed in the Central Library.
- Faculty / Students must enter their visit in the Gate Register compulsorily.
- Usage of cell phone is totally prohibited inside the library.
- Users must keep their belongings at the "Property Counter" before entering the Central Library. However they are advised not to leave valuable things like cell phones, purse etc. outside the central library.
- Personal books, files, lab coat/apron and articles will not be allowed inside the Library. The students are requested to take care of their belongings.
- Underlining, scribbling, tearing of pages or any other type of mutilation of books, journals etc., as well as mishandling or misuse of computers will attract appropriate punishment.
- Any book / journal is brought out of the library without proper entry, serious action will be taken.
- Competent authority will take necessary action against the users who violate the library rules and regulations.
