About The Department

The Computer Applications Department was established in the year 2009. The Department offers 3 year MCA Degree course. The Department is bestowed with an experienced team of faculty members with excellent academic records and proficiency. Excellent infrastructure, state-of-the-art computers with the latest advances in technology and comprehensive study material make the Department a class apart.

We Provide the I.T. and Computer Industry with world-class talent and creating some of the finest software professionals. By providing concept-oriented subject knowledge through a high quality teaching that is supplemented with practical training, the Department aims to bring out some of the brightest minds into the world of computers and technology.

MISSION

To provide a current, comprehensive and client-centered environment for the teaching and learning of computer science and related professional values. Prepare students for professional careers & advanced studies in computer Applications; promote discovery, dissemination and application of knowledge involving computing.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO’s)

PEO1:Graduates might invoke core knowledge acquired from program to contribute as competent technical professions at entry level / middle level in an Organization

PEO2:To develop the ability to plan, analyze, design, code, test, implement & maintain a software product for real time system.

PEO3:To prepare the students to pursue higher studies in computing or related disciplines and to work in the fields of teaching and research.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSO’s)

PSO 1:An ability to design and develop applications to analyze and solve all computer science related problems, Integrate and apply efficiently the contemporary IT tools to all computer applications,Utilize the computing knowledge efficiently in projects with concern for societal, environmental, and cultural aspects.

PSO 2: An ability to analyzing, understanding, designing ,coding and Testing engineering problems using programming skills and apply the inherent skills with absolute focus to function as a successful entrepreneur.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO’s)

PO1: Computer application Knowledge:Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, computer fundamentals and specialization to the solution of complex programming problems.

PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex programming problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and computer sciences.

PO3: Design / Development of solutions:Design solutions for complex programming problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex software activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional programming practice.

PO7: Environment and sustainability:Understand the impact of the professional programming solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8: ETHICS:Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the computer programming practice.

PO9: INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM WORK:Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10: COMMUNICATION: Communicate effectively on complex programming activities with the IT community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11: PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND FINANCE:Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the computer application management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

Laboratories

RDBMS LAB

RDBMS Lab is a futuristic lab with premium systems with high speed internet connectivity. This lab aims at developing the students with excellent skill in database creation and management by providing a strong formal foundation in database concepts, technology and practice to the participants to groom them into well-informed database application developers. Major software in this laboratory includes MYSQL, Oracle 11G, IBM Rational Rose, Argo UML, ASP.NET, PHP, Visual Studio, etc.
